Coming Together to Create Awareness

A report of child abuse is made every ten seconds in the United States. Every year, more than 4 million referrals are made to child protection agencies. This is why April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. National Child Abuse Prevention Month, is an annual observance in the United States dedicated to raising awareness and preventing child abuse.
Why Pinwheels? Pinwheels represent childlike whimsy and lightheartedness of a world where all children grow up happy, healthy, and prepared to succeed in supportive families.
Each year in our community more than a hundred children enter the child welfare system, through no fault of their own. This is a confusing time when children face much uncertainty. Multiple people are coming in and out of their lives: foster parents, social workers, Guardians ad Litems, and the list goes on. CASAs are consistent adults, specially trained to speak up for the child’s best interests in court and ensure that their needs are being met during this critical time. With your help, funds raised from this initiative will provide each child with a CASA, so that they will receive more services while in care, be less likely to be bounced from home to home, and do better in school.
Thank you to everyone for supporting this initiative, together we can make our community a healthier and happier place for families to grow and thrive.
