There’s No Place Like HOPE!
Fostering Futures helps youth prepare for exiting the child welfare system, creating skills to counter drop out, unemployment, and homelessness rates. It works by having a caring volunteer trained with evidence-based practices, and a one-on-one relationship with a transitioning youth.
Supporting Youth Transition Into Adulthood
More than 17,000 young people age out of foster care each year. After a foster youth ages out, homelessness and unemployment are often the outlook ahead. Despite there being more than 34 million entry level jobs nationwide, many foster youth aren’t prepared to be independent and don’t have the skills or resources needed to access the opportunities that could launch them into employment. Our Fostering Futures Program is here to help improve the outcomes for youth.
A Goal Without A Plan Is Just A Wish
1 in 5 are homeless the day they turn 18
1 in 4 enter the criminal justice system
Only 58% graduate highschool by 19
54% are unemployed by the age of 26
Hope Needs a Helping Hand
CASA’s Fostering Future Program promotes, encourages and guides the transitioning youth into empowered and resilient adults. We believe people can survive and flourish if they have help at critical times. Our kids are at a critical point in their journey and your support for CASA of the Fox Cities and the Fostering Futures program continues that legacy and investment in our communities.
